It uses the latest Satellite technology to constantly monitor your position, whether indoors, outdoors, in a town shopping or on the move! What Will CarelineUK Monitor?
CarelineUK receive the following alerts automatically from a SmartlinQ Mobile Alarm. Additionally we can allocate anyone of your pre authorised contacts (also referred to as a Guardian) to also receive any of the following alerts either by Text Message or email.
• GPS Locations
The SmartlinQ Mobile Alarm automatically sends its location to CarelineUK in intervals ranging from every minute to every hour. This can be altered according to your requirements. CarelineUK can also access your up to date location at anytime.
• SOS Activation
The SOS key can be simply pressed if you get into any difficulty - this opens up an instant conversation to CarelineUK, where an operator can immediately assist you and has access to your exact location by GPS. If necessary, the Operator will request assistance from the Emergency Services but will remain on the line for reassurance until additional assistance arrives.
• Fall Detector
The Smartlinq Mobile Alarm has very advanced software that can determine if you have suffered a fall or a trip. This will immediately trigger an alarm to a CarelineUK operator who will then call you on the device to provide assistance where needed.
• Safety Zones
We can set up to 4 virtual safety zones to provide additional peace of mind, perhaps allocating a 500 m zone around your home for example. • Can I use the SmartlinQ Mobile as a phone?
Yes you can. The SmartlinQ is a mobile phone and is allocated its own number. So you can give this to friends and relatives so that they can call you. The device also has 4 speed dial buttons that can be programmed to call specified numbers with a touch of a button.
• How much do I pay for the Orange SIM card line rental?
Nothing! Your SIM card is included in your monthly plan for the monitoring. You will receive a monthly statement from us that will highlight any calls you have made.
• How much do I have to pay for calls I make from the SmartlinQ Mobile Alarm?
These rates apply for any calls you make from the SmartlinQ and they will appear on your monthly statement:
UK Landline (per min) 10p
Orange Mobile (per min)10p
Other Mobile networks (per min) 25p
2Mb of a monthly data is included in order to send your co-ordinates to our system. This is normally enough to locates you every 20 minutes, 12 hours a day - sufficient for mos people. However if you want location fixes more frequently, this will incur addtional data charges.
Co-ordintes are sent by GPRS as part of your inclusive data bundle, network coverage permitting. If however, you are positioned in a location with no GPRS coverage, the smartlinq device will transmit the data via SMS - which will incurr a 10p charge per location.
• Can other people be able to see where I am?
At present we are only allowing CarelineUK Operators to see your exact location and movements. This information will not be passed on to other individuals or organisations, except the emergency services if and when it is required.

• Can I use the SmartlinQ abroad?
The SmartlinQ device is Quadband, so you can use it in most countries around the globe. Please note however that CarelineUK can only provide Operator assistance when you are in mainland UK. If you do decide to take your handset abroad, please note you will incur additional charges for making and receiving calls whilst roaming. This is the case as with any other UK mobile phone being used abroad.
• How long is my commitment?
The 24/7 monitoring plan from CarelineUK is subject to an 18 month agreement. After the initial term you can continue to use the phone and CarelineUK's monitoring service all the time you pay the monthly price plan of £29.99. If you wish to cancel after the initial 18 months you will need to write to us requesting this and giving 30 days notice. The SmartlinQ handset will need to be returned to us once the service is disconnected. If you wish to cancel before the 18 months have expired then you will have to settle the remaining months left on the agreement. So if you cancel 2 months, you will just have to pay 2 x £29.99.
